Simroy 'Ven O muse' Hunter

Simroy Hunter was born in Port Murant, Jamaica to parents Elsie and Rupert Hunter.  Growing up in St. Thomas, Jamaica, Simroy was influenced by a rich musical and cultural heritage. He started playing the organ. In his home he was taught the love of classical music. Simroy’s mother was a major influence encouraging her son the keep developing his musical talents.

Attending a musically based high school, he joined the orchestra, where he learned to play the trumpet, bass guitar, drums and violin.  His high school career was pathway to his musical career where he earned several awards in music.

Simroy now a high school graduate enlisted in the Jamaica Defense Force. Six weeks out of training he joined the army band.  In which he remained a member for 10 years. While in the band he added the French Horn and Trombone to his repertoire. In the army he also polished his skill for the keyboard, and started a new skill.  He developed a talent for writing lyrics.  During this time he achieved another goal with a few of his band members, they started a reggae band often playing backup for such artist as Lieutenant Stitchie. General Trees and Papa San.

Starting a civilian life he was hired by Warren and Everett Thompson to play keyboards in the U7 Band which was the resident band at Eaton Hall Hotel.  After 2 months the band was hired by Franklin D Resorts.  This position allowed him again to play backup to such artist as Dennis Malcolm, Karen Smith, Nicky OJ, Winston Clarke, Joan Dixon and Yeashkark.  While at the hotel the band started moonlighting in Montego Bay to broaden their horizons.  This lead to him and his band members going on a 3 day tour in Chile, Argentina in 1994.

The year of 1995 brought about another big change in his life.  He packed his bags and headed to the US to follow his dreams of becoming a producer and studio owner.  While in Fort Lauderdale he started the Vengeance Band with former boss Warren Thompson and drummer Stuart Bailey.  Being bestowed a great opportunity the band went on tour to the Dominican Republic backing Anthony Cruz, Honorable and Absolute.   Shortly after returning the band was hired to play at the prestigious Fort Lauderdale Black and White Ball. Unfortunately that band was disbanded shortly after but this didn't stop him from moving on. He went on to join another group of talented musicians.  It was while playing in this group that he met MC Original Black Pantah.

In the year 2001 he moved to Orlando, FL on focused on his future resulting on him having to put his music on the back burner for a few years.  In 2004 the music was pulling at his soul so he started writing and producing music again.  He formed a production company with 2 other partners called We 3 Kings.

Still feeling something was missing he branched out and started his own company Nu-Jamz Productions in 2005.  Where until today you can still find him on the keyboard and in the studio knocking out musical tracks and writing lyrics for the artist he is working with.  And if you listen closely you might even catch him singing a time or two.

His current accolades include Tropical-Def Jams recording artiste MC Original Black Pantah, Charles A Beasley Jr. (Vision Management), Andrew Luv, Mercy Hollis, Justyse, Trinadee, and Jeremy George.
